No problems at all so far, we have been taking our dog Reggie here for three years, staff are generally excellent, responsive and efficient. You can tell staff have a genuine interest in the welfare of your pet and are on hand to provide all the advice you could need. Congratulations to all staff and keep

Update 15/2/26 seems to have gone downhill recently! Paid £60 for a full check up of our dog, they couldn't Do a simple blood test advised our dog be sedated even though he's had it done there before under different vets with no issues... They took him into a busy environment room with a cat! The new staff are nowhere near as Good sadly, receptionist was all over the show and had to remind her to issue meds and book a follow up

Our usual vets in Downton were closed, so we were sent to Hampton Park Vets. Unfortunately, we didn’t have a great experience. While they did treat our dog’s broken dewclaw (an injury we’re sadly familiar with), the approach felt off.
They left cut hair and tools on the table while dressing his paw, then wrapped his whole leg in layers of bandage—even though he already had a cone. When we questioned it, they said it was routine, but we’ve never had that before. Usually, the wound is just covered with one layer of breathable bandage.
By day two, he was limping badly. We had to remove the bandage early, and it was wet and smelly—possibly just in time to prevent infection. We cleaned it ourselves and used antiseptic spray.
At the check-up, they weren’t happy we removed the bandage and insisted on doing the same full wrap again. When we asked for a lighter dressing, they refused, saying he’d take it off—even though he had a cone. It was either full bandage or nothing. So we left with nothing.
Not sure what the £132 covered, and honestly, we won’t be going back. The staff didn’t show much warmth toward our dog—it all felt rushed and impersonal.

To be fair, the receptionist was lovely and even apologised for the wait—even though it wasn’t her fault!
When we were finally seen, neither of our dogs were weighed, and the health checks weren’t actually completed. The practice itself is looking tired and outdated, and sadly, that seems to reflect the level of care now, too.
When we called the branch manager to complain the following day (as she had already left by the time of our evening appointment), we specifically asked for our dogs’ weights—knowing full well she wouldn’t be able to provide them. Sure enough, she couldn’t explain why they hadn’t been checked, other than saying the vet wasn’t usually based at that practice. Not exactly reassuring.
Both of our dogs are seniors—one is a rescue, and the other is already nervous at the vets—so the long wait and lack of care didn’t help. When we asked about a small age wart on our eldest’s leg that he can lick, we were told it was actually a cyst and needed a cream… £41 later, with no instructions. Then, we were told his heart murmur had suddenly worsened from grade 1 to grade 3, and he needed a heart scan—for £400+.
Next up, our rescue. At his last health check (with a fantastic vet, who sadly no longer works there), we were reassured that his lump was just fat. This time? The vet took one look and told us it was now a hernia and handed us a quote for £450+ to have it removed. No discussion, no real explanation—just another expensive estimate thrown at us. The whole appointment felt rushed, like we were just being given high-cost treatment plans rather than genuine care or advice.
After calling to complain, the branch manager asked if we’d like to see another vet… No, thank you. Instead, we’ve now moved to an independent vet in Salisbury, and the difference is unbelievable. We were seen the same day we registered, and guess what? The supposed hernia is, in fact, just a fat lump—exactly what we were told originally. The new vet even did a quick test (free of charge!) to reassure us.

But now, it’s all about money. We’d rather drive further for a vet who actually cares.

I have been reading past reviews of Hampton park vets , I would like to ask “ what’s happened “ ?.
I recently had to have a lovely member of my family put to sleep , my dog Sidney .
He was elderly and had heart failure that was only picked up on his last yearly visit . I kind of feel it could have been picked up sooner . Outwardly he was his usual happy self , energetic, loved his food etc , walks and exercise.
His death was not what I would call peaceful and a stress free release for him .
It was lacking in compassion, care , and respect.
He was stressed more by being held down to find a vein to give him sedation, after trying both his front legs , the vetinary eventually found a vein in his back legs. By which time , my dog was very stressed .
It was not the sort of death I would like for my very loved dog .
I took our new puppy for his second vaccination this week , only to be phoned after, to ask to take him back in as they were not sure if the injection was successful as there was a puddle of liquid on the work table where my pup was standing .
He’s a small pup , so had to go through the procedure again ! .
When he got home , he was in pain and crying/ whining , and yelped out when being picked up .
I don’t know , but I felt that the procedure was done by someone with little experience in giving vaccines.
On the way out of the room , I saw veterinary staff in the operating theatre eating their lunch on the operating tables !!
Very unprofessional, and not a good look .
I am very disappointed in Hampton Park vet’s , I think their service has slipped somewhat and I’m no longer happy to take my dogs there , which is a shame .
My trust has been broken.
